Move Counts

Pokémon GO Move Counts: Fast Move Counting Chart Count their fast moves, know what's coming

Every fast move your opponent throws is energy you can see coming. Count them and you know the exact turn their charged move is ready — look up any Pokémon, or drill the meta until the number is instant.

Count any Pokémon

Search any Pokémon to see how many fast moves it needs for each of its charged moves.

Fast move counting chart

How many fast moves each meta Pokémon needs before its charged move is ready, for the top 30 of each league. Count your opponent's fast moves against these numbers and you always know what they have banked. The four numbers are four charges in a row: leftover energy carries into the next one, which is why they shift.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a move count in Pokémon GO PvP?
It is how many fast moves it takes to charge a charged move. You count the fast moves your opponent throws, and the count tells you the exact turn their charged move comes online — so you can shield, swap or bait before it lands. Fast moves gain a fixed amount of energy per use, so the number is identical in every battle.
Why does the count change between charged moves?
Energy above the cost carries into the next charge. A charged move costing 50 energy, thrown behind a fast move that gains 4, needs 13 throws the first time and leaves 2 energy spare — so the second charge needs only 12. That is why counts are written as a four-charge sequence.
Do Shadow Pokémon have different move counts?
No. Shadow forms change damage, not move energy, so the counts are identical to the regular form. That is why the chart lists one entry per species.
How do I actually memorize move counts?
Drill a few at a time, and start with the counts that shift between charges — the constant ones look after themselves. The BattleFlow app repeats the counts you get wrong until they stick.
